Historic Niswonger Home Began as a Hall
C. P. Niswonger moved to Central Oregon in 1907, and started Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home in 1911. Read the full article published in The Bulletin on August 31, 1990.
Niswonger-Reynolds was sold to a New Orleans company during a time when large national chains had been buying up small, family-run funeral homes throughout the country.
In 2004, Jerome and Dawna Daniel published the announcement of their purchase of Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home - once again making Niswonger-Reynolds a family-owned funeral home, which remains a matter of great importance today.

Nena Close
Administrative Assistant
Nena (pronounced knee-nah) was born in Bend, Oregon back in the days when it was a quiet little mill town, and everybody knew everybody which is why she is an asset to our firm. . Prior to joining us she had 40-year career in advertising sales at the local newspaper, retiring in 2017, learned about a part-time Admin. position that was open and applied. She feels blessed to be able to work at Niswonger-Reynolds. It feels like “home” as a lot of the families we help come from old Bend families, too. Hobbies include enjoy genealogy research which is an asset at times in the funeral home business, "thrifting" and walking her dogs Lilly and Shelley, She and her husband attend Tumalo Community Church where she holds the position of Historian for the church.
