Virginia Ginny C. Browne

Virginia Ginny Jewell Browne was born November 17, 1918 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She was the loving daughter of Rev. Orlando and Martha Jewell and the oldest of four children, Forest, Bob, and Paul Jewell. Ginny was married to Willis Brownie Browne for 64 wonderful years and mother to four children, Barbara Negley of San Antonio, Texas; Carol Math of Tampa, Florida; Bob Browne of Redmond, Oregon; and Donna Brumbaugh of Petaluma, California. She is also survived by her brother Robert Bob Jewell and her sister-in-law, Jessie Wrabella, Ardie Jewell, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Ginny was an active participant in the Bend United Methodist Church and a member for the past 27 years. She was a past president of the United Methodist Womens group in Richland, Washington and a church choir member throughout her life. She also led several prayer groups, including ones in Montclair, N.J., Bethesda, MD, and Bend, OR, for a total of 50 years. She enjoyed traveling, music, playing bridge, baking rolls and pies, playing the piano, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She brought joy to others with her good sense of humor and positive attitude toward life. Ginny will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her special gift of listening to others and lending a sympathetic ear was helpful to everyone she touched. We are all grateful to her kind, sweet sprit and her strong Christian faith. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother, as well as a caring friend. She was a blessing to all of us. Ginny passed away peacefully on July 26, 2013, on her husband, Brownies birthday! She was surrounded by family and in her own home when she passed, peacefully. Shes with her husband, Brownie in heaven, now. A memorial service will be held at the Bend United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 31st at 11:00 a.m. Private cremation was held under the care of Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home.
