Mary Anne Stiltner

Mary Anne Stiltner (neé Creedican) beloved mother, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully at home on 31 May 2024 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Mary, age 74, was born to Maury and Betty Creedican on 29 May 1950 in Tacoma, WA. In 1952, her family relocated to Klamath Falls, OR where Mary was raised with her brother, Pat Creedican, and sister, Kathy Creedican. She attended Sacred Heart Academy and Oregon Institute of Technology. Mary was quietly adventurous, working seasonal jobs at Yosemite National Park, a local lumber mill, and three summers as a fire lookout on local mountain tops. She enlisted in the Army and served as an Air Traffic Controller at Fort Campbell for three years. Following her time in the Army, she earned her Associates in Nursing and returned to Klamath Falls with her young daughter, Denise. Mary worked at a local home health agency while completing requirements for her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She then worked for several years at the local hospital, then called Merle West Medical Center. In 1990, she transferred to the Cancer Treatment Center where she was a stalwart for the medical oncology department for nearly two decades and touched countless lives of Klamath Basin residents afflicted with cancer. Mary retired in 2015 and moved to Bend, OR to be closer to family. Mary was a devoted Catholic all her life attending Sacred Heart and St. Pius X parishes while in Klamath Falls and St. Francis parish in Bend. She enjoyed reading and jigsaw puzzles, and fostered a love of nature and the outdoors early on which persisted throughout her life. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Elizabeth Creedican. She is survived by her daughter, Retired Air Force Major Denise Stiltner, brother and sister-in-law Pat and Carolyn Creedican, sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Eric Skidmore, nephews Daniel Creedican, Matthew Creedican, Andrew Skidmore, Justin Skidmore, and niece, Sarah Creedican. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday 13 June 2024 at St. Francis Catholic Church (27th St) in Bend, OR. Burial will be at 1:00 PM on Friday 14 June 2024 at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Klamath Falls, OR.
