Bonnie Claire Wilkins

With profound sorrow and deep reverence, we mourn the passing of Bonnie Claire Wilkins, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and treasured friend. Bonnie's journey began on August 7, 1946, in Vancouver, Washington, where she was welcomed into the world by her loving parents, Frank and Clara Komar. In 1961, Bonnie embarked on a new chapter of her life as she moved to Bend, Oregon, a place that would become the backdrop of countless cherished memories. It was here that Bonnie's path intertwined with that of her soulmate, Stephen Wilkins, whom she married in 1969. Together, they forged a bond of love and companionship that would endure through the years. As a mother, Bonnie was the heart and soul of her family. She embraced the joys and challenges of parenthood with unwavering dedication, raising four children—Tina, Todd, Thomas, and Joseph—with boundless love and nurturing care. As an oldest sister of five girls, Bonnie was the rock and cornerstone to her four surviving sisters, Patty Hutton, Sally Ward, Laurie Wilde and Linda Kitchen. They will miss her heart of compassion and matriarchal love. Professionally, Bonnie distinguished herself as a Senior Commercial and Residential Escrow Officer, lending her expertise to various Title Companies in Bend until her well-deserved retirement in 2002. Her commitment to excellence and integrity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Beyond her professional pursuits, Bonnie found immense fulfillment in her hobbies and volunteer work. Whether she was scouring for treasures while rockhounding the eastern Oregon deserts, tending to her vibrant garden, delving into the teachings of the Bible, or simply basking in the warmth of cherished relationships, Bonnie's zest for life was palpable. Her altruistic spirit shone brightly through her volunteer endeavors with organizations such as the American Red Cross, where she offered her time and talents to serve those in need. Additionally, Bonnie served as treasurer for both the American Legion and the Life Investment Group, leaving a lasting impact through her selfless contributions to the community. Bonnie's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will be forever cherished by her husband, four children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life. In the tapestry of our memories, Bonnie's presence will continue to illuminate the corners of our hearts, guiding us with her wisdom and grace. Though she may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit will forever linger in the gentle whispers of the wind and the warmth of the sun, a testament to the enduring power of love. As we bid farewell to Bonnie, we find solace in knowing that her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched and the memories she bestowed upon us. May her journey into eternity be adorned with the same love and serenity that she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bonnie's honor to either the American Red Cross, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) or Right to Life, organizations that held a special place in her heart. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (2450 NE 27th St.) in Bend, Friday April 26th at 10:30 a.m., where friends and loved ones will come together to honor her remarkable legacy and find solace in each other's embrace. As we grieve the loss of Bonnie, let us also celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever reside in the depths of our hearts, a beacon of light and love guiding us through the darkest of days. Rest in peace, dear Bonnie, knowing that your memory will be eternally cherished, and your spirit will continue to inspire us all.
