Francine Kay Fisher

Francine K. Fisher of Carson City, NV, passed away peacefully in her home on June 12, 2026, with her son, Brett, and daughter-in-law, Jessica, at her side. She was 85. Francine moved to Nevada in 2016 after living 53 years in Oregon, where she and her husband, Robert Fisher, practiced livestock ranching and raised a family. They also bred and raced quarter horses for several years. Francine Kay Phillips was born in Fullerton, California, to Ralph Allen and Frances Lucille (nee Barker) Phillips of Yorba Linda, California, a small farming community of Orange County. Her parents were orchardists who tended acres of citrus and avocado groves. Her favorite hobbies were riding horses, hiking and playing tennis. After marrying Robert Fisher in 1961, the couple moved to Marion County, Oregon, and made their first home along the north fork of the Santiam River near Mehama. They moved to the Salem area after their daughter was born and welcomed three sons to the family. The family would move again to Lane County, Oregon, east of Eugene and spent several years ranching in the Creswell area before relocating to Bend. In their retirement, the couple resided in Roseburg, Sutherlin and Redmond, Oregon, before Robert's death in 2012. Francine later left Oregon and lived the remainder of her life in Carson City. Francine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Fisher, her parents, Ralph and Frances Phillips, and a grandson, Seth Daniel Fisher. She is survived by her children, Karalea Ann Fisher, Brett Allen Fisher, Matthew Aaron Fisher and Marc Lucas Fisher, daughters-in-law Jenilee Fisher and Jessica Fisher, and her brother, Ralph Allen Phillips, Jr. Francine made friends everywhere she lived. She was like a warm candlelight in a dark room. She made people feel welcome and at ease. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. But her family rejoices knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and eager to reunite with her loved ones. Private family graveside services were held at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend, Oregon. Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home was honored to handle the arrangements.
