Donna Kay Noyes

Donna Kay Noyes was joyfully brought into this world on August 24, 1932 in Binghamton, NY to Harold and Elizabeth Noyes. Donna died peacefully in her sleep on November 24, 2018 at her home in Bend, Oregon. Her educational journey included Vestal Central High School in Vestal, NY and continued at Cornell University. While at Cornell University she was a member of the national college honor society of Kappa Omicron Nu and the Kappa Delta sorority. Donna earned two Masters Degrees from Michigan State University. One in education and a second in gerontology. Her employment life included working at the University of Michigan as a dietitian, as the School Lunch Director at Willow Run Schools in Michigan, and as a dietitian and teacher in Lansing, Michigan. Her retirement began in Sun City, Arizona and continued here in Bend, Oregon after discovering Mt. Bachelor Ski Area. Donna was a very active person and loved to go camping, hiking, swimming and especially skiing. She was always learning something new each year was important to her but traveling was her passion and as an avid traveler, Donna had traveled to over 90 countries. Donna was a faithful volunteer for many outreach ministries, including Special Olympics, Friends with Flowers, the Back Door Caf, and many others. She loved supporting children and youth in their sports and artistic endeavors. She especially loved music (specifically vocal music and the organ). Donna loved going to the local high school games as well as watching college and the NFL on TV. She was active with AAUW, United Methodist Women (Circle of Friends), and sang in the choir at her churches. A well-loved friend, volunteer and Bend Church member, Donna will be missed. Her life was in inspiration and an example of how to live life to the fullest. Her impact on so many lives is a tangible thing that will live on in many hearts. A celebration of her life will be held at Bend Church (United Methodist, 680 NW Bond, Bend, OR) on Monday, December 10th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Back Door Caf Ministry at Bend Church (United Methodist).
