Beverley Anne Patterson

Beverley Anne Patterson, 89, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Werner and Sadie Esselstrom and was born September 9, 1933, in Duluth, Minnesota. Beverley loved to have fun and had lots of friends. She enjoyed ice and roller skating, bowling, singing and played the organ in church as a teen. Beverley graduated from Central High School in 1950. She met the love of her life, Dick Patterson, while roller skating when she was just 16. Dick joined the Army then returned home on leave to marry Beverley on April 12, 1952. Dick and Beverley moved to Bend in 1957 and opened Dick's Linoleum & Tile, later Dick's Carpets. Beverley's greatest joy was being a wife, mother to their four daughters and grandmother. She loved cooking, baking, dancing, growing and arranging flowers, golf, bridge, camping and fishing. She told her family to giggle every day. Dick and Beverley celebrated their 70th anniversary in April. Beverley was heartbroken by the recent passing of Dick. Their daughters are Debbie (deceased), Beth (Larry) Pool, Cindy (Cal) Ozaki and Sue (Frank) Potje. Their grandchildren are Jerek Lovey, Lisa and Kwame Agyeman, Rick and Christine Potje, Mike Potje, Kim Ozaki and Bob Neidner, and Krissy Ozaki. Their greatgrandchildren are Clark, Charlotte and Mamie. Beverley loved her family and her church. She enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family playing games, singing, dancing and cooking. Beverley loved children and was a selfless person always helping others in need. For over 25 years, she and Dick gave hundreds of toys to children at Christmas. She was a member of Grace First Lutheran Church, the Bend Golf Club, Elks, and was a Campfire Girls Leader. Beverley was under the care of Partners In Care Hospice. Our family thanks Partners in Care for the wonderful and loving care they gave Mom and Dad. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, January 14, 2023, at Grace First Lutheran Church, 2265 NW Shevlin Park Road, Bend, OR, 97703. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace First Lutheran Church or Partners In Care Hospice.
